Caber Feidh Scottish Deerhounds
Holistically raising our dogs since 1986
Welcome to the home of Caber Feidh Scottish Deerhounds, the oldest and most popular deerhound site on the Web. Here you will find information on this ancient and lovable breed, links to other deerhound sites, and information on natural and holistic health care for dogs. We have information on holistic care, including for people. We especially hope you'll visit one of the most popular pages on our site, which includes a short film of two of our beloved veterans, Lillie and Rosie, running and playing on the beach.
This site is a true labor of love for us, and we hope you find what you're looking for here!
Caber Feidh Scottish Deerhounds
In 1993, Caber Feidh Scottish Deerhounds launched the first Scottish Deerhound breed site on the Web. In 1999, we moved to our own domain, Caberfeidh.com.
Since 1986, we have been committed to natural and holistic methods of raising and caring for our dogs and the preservation and improvement of the Scottish Deerhound. We have shown our dogs in conformation and field events, and were the proud breeders of show and field champions, including dogs who have won and placed in Groups, field champions (including dual champions), and DC Caber Feidh Fraser MacDuff, FCh, LCM1, the first Lure Courser of Merit Deerhound on the West Coast (owned by Karin Shainman).
About our Kennel Name
The cabarfeidh, or deer antler, is one of the symbols of Clan Mackenzie. It seemed a fitting choice as a kennel name, both for its family connection and also its evocation of the ancient prey of the Deerhound, the Highland Stag.
Caber Feidh is owned by Christie Keith and her mother, Kathleen McKenzie. We are not breeding at this time, and suggest you contact Scottish Deerhound Breeder Referral if you are interested in obtaining a deerhound. If you wish to contact us for some other reason, we ask that you do so by using this link, to prevent spam. Thank you.
